Adult Education offers Free GED classes throughout Southeastern Indiana.  GED classes are held at the Greensburg Public Library, Batesville High School, Milan High School, Lawrenceburg WorkOne Center, Aurora Elementary, Switzerland County Middle School, Madison WorkOne Center, and Southeastern Career Center.  ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are also available at Casa Amigo in Madison and at the Learning Center in Greensburg.

SCC is also a GED testing site. Tests are given on the 2nd Monday and Tuesday of each month except the summer months. Pre-registration is required before testing. This requires coming to SCC with one photo ID (Indiana driver’s license) plus two additional forms of ID, completing the registration form, and paying the $60 fee. Seventeen year olds may test but must first have an exit interview from high school, attend classes, and pass the GED practice test. Sixteen year olds are not permitted to test but may attend class.

SCC also offers non-credit classes in the evening and on-line. The evening classes include computers, heating and air conditioning, residential wiring, auto collision, welding, cake decoration, floral design, real estate, and a variety of other classes. Classes are held in conjunction with the school semesters and begin in September and January.   There are approximately 350 on-line courses to choose from.  These classes start monthly and last for six weeks.
