
Carson Meyer is from Batesville High School and is in Welding 2. Carson is also a part of the Capstone Work Based Learning Program where he works at Med-Mizer in Batesville, IN. He is the son of Joe and April Meyer. Carson will be attending The Hobart Institute of Welding after graduation. His career goal is to be a welder in the Pipeline industry. Isabella Martin is a senior from East Central High School and is in the health science 2 program. Isabella is the daughter of Ken and Jill Martin. She is in the Capstone Work Based Learning program where she has been working as a CNA at Ridgewood Health Campus, as well. After graduating from SCC,

Haylei Little is currently enrolled in the Health science 2 Program and is an early graduate from South Dearborn High School. Haylei is the daughter of Holli Sanchez. Haylei is in the Capstone Work Based Learning Program working as a CNA at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. After graduation from SCC, Haylei will be continuing at Ridgewood Health Campus full-time. Haylei’s career goal is to become a neonatal nurse.

Tristan Kemplin is a student from East Central High School enrolled in the Welding 2 Program. Tristan is the son of Megan Skehan. Tristan is in the Capstone Work Based learning program where he has been working as a welder part-time at MachinTek in Fairfield, Ohio. He will be going full-time as a welder at MachinTek after graduation. Mr. Lance Dowdy, the fabrication supervisor, has joined us today to represent MachinTek.

Tyler Bruner is a student from East Central High School enrolled in the Electrical Trades 2 program here at SCC. Tyler is the son of Greg & Heather Bruner. Tyler is in the Capstone Work Based Learning program where he has been working with BDC electric part-time since September. Tyler will be continuing at BDC Electric as an apprentice full-time after graduation. His career goal is to achieve his Journeyman's License, and eventually become a Master Electrician. Ben Ahaus is from East Central High School currently enrolled in the Welding 2 program. He is the son of Brian Ahaus and Karen Ahaus. Ben is in the Capstone Work Based Learning Program where he is currently working part-time for Baylor Trucking in Milan, Indiana, where he performs maintenance on semi trucks and trailers. Ben will be continuing with the team at Baylor Trucking as a diesel mechanic full-time after graduation. His end career goal is to join the pipefitters union. Abbie Schmidt is from Jac-Cen-Del Jr. Sr. High School currently in the Health Sciences 2 Program. Abbie is also in the Capstone Work Based Learning Program working as a CNA at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood, Indiana. Abbie is the daughter of Joshua and Jessica Schmidt. She will be attending Ivy Tech in Madison after graduation to work towards attaining her career goal of becoming a Prenatal Sonography Technician.

The 2024 Annual Egg Drop competition is underway!
Each program that decides to participate is to create a contraption from materials in their classes to protect the egg from a 62ft drop! Out of the surviving eggs that do not break, the contraption they were held in is weighed, lightest weight wins!
AM egg survivors were Building Trades I and Building Trades II. Building Trades I winning overall with a weight of 59 grams (2.08 ounces)!
