Over the last few weeks Building Trades I and II have joined forces on the new girls restroom renovation in the back hallway. The students now have some experience with commercial plumbing, masonry construction, pouring concrete, painting walls and trim, suspended ceiling, and even toilet partitions.
A big shout out to industry partner, Scott Hobb’s Construction, for letting the class borrow their concrete mixer!

Heavy Equipment students took advantage of the nice days we had recently. They finished up a few projects here at the school. The students worked on a drainage ditch out back by the Auto II and Welding I labs, they made a parking area for Auto I, and laid down some stone walking paths in between shops for the Fearless Female event Friday. Good job everyone!

SCC hosted a blood drive through Hoxworth last Thursday and Friday. A total of 115 units was collected! Making that 345 potential lives saved! Thank you to the staff and students who donated!

Southeastern Career Center will be hosting its first ever Make An IMPACT convocation on March 8th.
Students will be taken directly to the Tyson Activity Center that day where they will hear from guest speakers with messages related to the IMPACT curriculum that all programs share. There will also be interprogram competitions and a time for students to have some fun. It should be a great day!


Welding II finishing up the training dumpster for not only our local fire department, but also our Fire & Rescue students. They will be using this as a training prop to teach the proper approach on how to detain a dumpster fire and how to put it out. The dumpster will be gas fired.
