This past weekend we had students from Building Trades, Electrical, Heavy Equipment, Welding and Diesel compete in the SkillsUSA State Conference. We would like to thank all our students for representing SCC with a job well done. Here are our winners: Heavy Equipment: Jake Grider (Jennings Co) Placed 1st - Receiving Gold. He is also eligible to compete at the SkillsUSA National Contest - Jake received a 10,000 dollar scholarship to (Ohio Technical College) OTC for winning state. Thomas Wilkening-(JCD) Placed 2nd - Receiving Silver – Thomas receives a 7,500 dollar scholarship to OTC for finishing second. Jacob Pratt (Rising Sun) Placed 3rd - Receiving Bronze – Jacob receives a 5,000 dollar scholarship to OTC for finishing 3rd. Electrical: Troy Kernan (South Dearborn) Placed 2nd - Receiving Silver – Troy received a 5,000 dollar scholarship to Lincoln Tech for finishing 2nd. Extemporaneous Speaking: Riley Johnson (Milan) Placed 2nd - Receiving Silver Diesel Equipment Technology: Noah Kruetzkamp (East Central) Placed 2nd - Receiving Silver – Noah received a 10,000 dollar scholarship to either OTC or Lincoln Tech for finishing 2nd.
