Today, October 21st, is National Reptile Day!
Here at the SCC, we house a couple of different reptiles in our Veterinary Science program. (Pictured below) Let’s play a game of “Did you know?”
Did you know?
Banana ball pythons are one of the 7,500 different types of color morphs on the market. The first sight of the banana coloring was back in 2003 and was sold for $25,000!
Bearded dragons got their name due to their ability to flare up or puff out the skin under their throats, which then causes the skin to turn black, resembling a beard.
Red-footed tortoises can live up to fifty years and produce clucks that resemble a chicken to communicate with other red-footed tortoises.

Happy Boss's Day to our Director Tracy Bear! Thank you for all that you do for the Southeastern Career Center! We are truly blessed to have you as our Director!

2024 Freshman Discovery Day!
Thank you to all who came out for our Freshman Discovery Day! This is where freshman are able to come in and get a hands on look at our programs!
Also, a big thank you to our staff for helping make this happen for these freshman!

Mason Mehlbauer is a Diesel II student from Batesville HS.
His Crum Trucking supervisor stated the following about Mason:
"Mason has shown his commitment to the trade by going out and buying his own tools and toolbox! That is quite the accomplishment, and we are proud of him here at Crum Trucking."
Congratulations Mason on a great accomplishment!

Students in Veterinary Science I recently spent some time researching a breed of any species (dog, cat, cattle, horse, sheep, goats, pocket pets, swine, etc) and developed a poster that they later presented to the class about their chosen breed. These posters were then displayed in the hallway outside of the veterinary science 1 classroom. This fun, interactive project allowed students to research a breed, work on their public speaking skills and educate their peers about the breed they chose.
